Two expats deported for overstaying

TANGERANG (JP): Tangerang Immigration office has deported an expatriate identified as Chiou Ya Hui, a Taiwan national, and will shortly deport another, South Korean Jeong Seong Ki, for overstaying on their visas.

Tangerang Immigration chief Dodi M. Wibowo said here on Tuesday that Ya Hui was deported to Tapai on Saturday on board an Eva Air flight from Soekarno-Hatta International airport.

Seong Ki would be deported on Thursday.

Ya Hui was arrested by airport officials sometime ago because she was being destructive and behaving strangely.

"She also liked to tear her clothes and go around naked. She was taken to Tangerang Police station before being sent to the immigration office," Dodi explained.

Reports said the woman was married to a Taiwan national before being abandoned by her family for unclear reasons.

Officials checked on her background and found out that she had overstayed on her visa. (edt)
