Two discovered after boat sinks
MAUMERE, East Nusa Tenggara: At least two of the five declared missing after their boat capsized last week have been found dead by fishermen in the Kojadoi Island waters, about 13 miles north of Maumere.
The decomposed bodies of the two victims, including a one-year-old baby, were buried by local residents shortly after they were taken from the sea on Sunday.
The discovery of the two bodies brought the death toll from the mishap to four people. Meanwhile, the three other passengers are missing.
The boat, KM Primkopal, sank on June 25, 2002, after being hit by strong waves in Maumere Bay on its way to Kojadoi Island. At least 17 people survived the accident, including its captain, named only as Arjun, who is being held at the local police station. --JP
