Two die in brutal fight

JAKARTA (JP): Two next-door neighbors were killed in a one-on- one fight Friday night in Koja, North Jakarta.

A police officer at the North Jakarta Police precinct said M. Safi'i, 40, and Bahari, 38, armed with a machete and a sword respectively, stabbed each other during the fight.

"Witnesses said the two were fighting over a woman but we're still investigating," the officer, who asked for anonymity, said Saturday.

The body of Safi'i, a trader, has been taken by his relatives from the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital morgue for burial in Madura, East Java.

The body of Bahari, a private company employee, was still at the morgue for a postmortem examination. (jun)
