Two detained for inciting riot
BANDUNG, West Java: The police are still holding two persons suspected of inciting last week's riot between several thousand roadside vendors and pedicab drivers and security forces.
The suspects, identified only as Sh, 19, and Bah, 22, were two of the 11 initially arrested on suspicion of masterminding the riot in which many shops and vehicles were vandalized. The other nine detained have since been released.
The two were caught red-handed vandalizing street lights and traffic signs, city police chief Col. Didi Widayadi told journalists here Saturday.
Didi said that the police were still tracking down three more persons suspected of participation in the disturbance. None of the detained were traders or pedicab drivers, Antara reported. (imn)
