Two corpses found

JAKARTA (JP): Two male corpses were found over the weekend at two different locations, a city police spokesman revealed on Sunday.

Sr. Comr. Anton Bahrul Alam said the second body remains unidentified and was found in the area surrounding the National Monument (Monas) Park in Central Jakarta on Sunday afternoon.

He identified the other body as that of Didi Suherdi, 26, a resident of Majalengka in West Java. Didi was found dead in the Menanti Malam Lembayung discotheque, on Jl. Hayam Wuruk in West Jakarta, on Saturday morning.

"The unidentified corpse of a man was found in the Monas area at about 1 p.m. It was found lying in one of the grassy areas. The man is aged in his mid-30s," Anton told reporters on Sunday.

"Police found no signs of injury on the body. He is about 165 centimeters tall, dark-skinned and has a tattoo on his left arm. A food vendor, whom police are questioning, said that this man was sighted in the area a few days ago, and that he even gave the man food."

Meanwhile, Anton said that Didi, who allegedly died of an unidentified illness, was found dead by discotheque cleaners on Saturday morning.

"Didi is from Jl. Desa Pancoran in Majasari subdistrict of Majalengka," Anton said. (ylt)
