Two charred in road accident

BANDUNG: Two people were burned to death in their car during a toll road accident between Padalarang and Cileunyi in West Java on Monday.

The two fatalities were identified as Asep Ridwan and Leni.

Guna Setya, an official at the toll road authority Jasa Marga, said the accident occurred when a tire of a sedan traveling at high speed exploded.

The sedan swerved out of control, hitting the toll road barrier and was then thrown to the other side where cars were traveling in the opposite direction.

The sedan rammed into an Espace minivan which then burst into flames, killing Asep and Leni.

The passengers in the sedan all survived the accident.

"The Espass burst into flames after the collision, while the sedan only sustained broken windows," Guna said.(25)
