Two arrested for robbery attempt
JAKARTA (JP): Police arrested two of three men yesterday for a robbery attempt of three employees from the Ministry of Public Works in South Jakarta.
On Monday the employees of the Directorate General of Human Settlements had just withdrawn Rp 42 million (US$17,500) from the Bank Exim branch on Jl. Raden Patah, Kebayoran Baru.
The money was for salaries of Directorate General employees.
South Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Sisno Adiwinoto said the suspects approached the employees, Sumadi, Nuradi and Suprapto.
"Sut (a suspect) suddenly beat Sumadi with a steel bar while Sum (another suspect) grabbed the money from the victim," Sisno said.
