Two arrested for double murder in Bogor

BOGOR (JP): Local police arrested two men for the murder of
hairdresser Adrian Suryadi, alias Oy Beng Liat, and Surya Teguh
Wijaya at the Danau Bogor Raya housing complex early last month.

Bogor Police detectives chief Capt. Umar Sumardi said the
suspects, identified as Dicky Kurniadi, 19, and Gindo Sirait,
alias Edo, alias Ryan, 24, were arrested last Thursday and last
Saturday, respectively.

"Gindo admitted to having killed the two victims out of anger
on Dec. 7. He said Adrian had asked to have sex with him several
times. Gindo rejected the proposition, but Adrian kept on pushing
him," Umar said on Monday.

The officer said Gino decided to kill Adrian after becoming
upset by obscene calls from the victim.

"He planned the murder and prepared a kitchen knife to commit
the fatal act. Gindo asked his friend Dicky to stand guard
outside the house while he killed Adrian," Umar said.

On the day of the murder, Gindo went to the hair salon owned
by Adrian and struck the victim over the head with a ceramic jar.

Adrian reportedly died instantly from the blow to the head,
but Gindo still proceeded to stab the victim several times.

"He also decided to kill Surya, alias Ciming, Adrian's friend,
who happened to be at the salon. Surya was stabbed several times
in the chest, abdomen and back," Umar said.

Gindo then dragged the lifeless Surya to the bathroom and
submerged his body in a water tank.

"During the murder Dicky stood guard outside the salon, in
case somebody tried to enter the house," he said, adding that
Dicky stole a gold necklace belonging to Adrian before fleeing.

Based on information from local residents, police arrested
Dicky at a house on Jl. Sukasari in Bogor last Thursday.

Dicky's arrest led to the arrest of Gindo in the early hours
of Saturday at a billiard center on Jl. Merdeka in Bogor.

The two suspects are being detained at Bogor Police
Headquarters pending further investigation. (21/edt)
