TV's Debby Sahertian toys with obsessive love triangle

JAKARTA (JP): Comedy sitcom actress-director Debby Sahertian, is dabbling in obsessions.

Her new TV drama, Cinta Diatas Segalanya (Love Above Everything), a 13-episode serial about obsessive love which she is directing, is 80 percent completed.

"The story revolves around (actor) Adjie Massaid who has been obsessed with (actress) Maudy Willhemina since childhood. She in turn is in love with another guy, who's in love with me," Debby said smiling.

"It's about what emotionally terrorizing and abusing people can do to a trusting relationship."

Shooting for the TV drama began last August and is scheduled for completion later this month. Upon completion, the drama starring Debby Sahertian and Rudy Salam will be aired on either RCTI or Indosiar.

Born April 5, 1963, Debby, considered a born joker, had the fashion world laughing at her clowning around on the catwalk.

After 12 years of modeling, she starred in several TV dramas and comedy sitcoms like Lenong Rumpi (Betawi traditional comedy) and Keluarga Van Danoe (The Van Danoe Family), particularly with comedy actor-director Harry de Fretes.

Harry discovered Debby's captivating talent at a fashion show and asked her to star in the 1989 comedy-hit Lenong Rumpi.

Debby has directed five productions which include TV comedies Hitam Putih (Black And White) and Saling Silang (Crisscross) and drama Maafkan Daku Bila Mencintaimu (Forgive Me For Loving You). (ylt)
