'TVRI' senior presenter dies
JAKARTA (JP): A senior presenter of the state-owned television station TVRI, Poppy Tiendas, died yesterday at her home on Jl. Penerangan, the Ministry of Information housing complex, in Pesanggarahan, South Jakarta.
The 58-year-old Poppy suffered a heart attack at about 8.30 a.m, a neighbor Tine Siahaia said. Poppy is survived by her two sons, a daughter and a grandchild.
Tine said Poppy would be buried at Tanah Kusir cemetery at 10 a.m. today. Poppy's husband, Rudy Tambayong died last year.
Poppy started her career as a presenter for the state-owned radio station RRI in 1964 and joined TVRI in the 1980s. Poppy had won a national singer contest held by RRI and TVRI. (jun)
