A documentary this evening on a famous modern Islamic boarding school modeled on traditional pesantren, Pondok Pesantren Gontor, provides an educational insight into the institutions (RCTI, 9:30 p.m).
Graduates are officially eligible for admission to universities in the country, and some of them end up teaching in Islamic universities abroad.
The campus is located on eight hectares plot of land in Gontor, a small rural village 210 kms from Surabaya, East Java.
The school, equipped with five libraries, teaches English, Arabic and Indonesian in addition to other compulsory subjects of the national curriculum.
Thousands of students live in its 16 dormitories.

Showing today on ANteve at 9:30 p.m., Crimes Of Passion: Sleepwalker features a chilling tale of murder that took place during a dream.
Fast asleep, Mark Schall (Jeffrey Nordling) has a nightmare. He sees himself driving about 75 miles to his in-laws' place, where his mother-in-law, Ann (Lisa Darr), questions his sudden presence.
He finds himself angered and chases after her, stabbing her to death.
Mark surrenders himself to the police.
His wife Lauren (Hillary Swank), then remembers that her grandfather was also a sleepwalker. Her grandfather, however, only made toast in his sleep.
The question of whether Mark should get the death sentence or be institutionalized is put forward in this episode.
