Tumor trouble disables man

PALU, Central Sulawesi: A 38-year-old transmigrant settling at Tomini village of Donggala regency here has a 20-kilogram tumor under his penis, Antara reported Wednesday.

The tumor was so big that it forced his genitals to "go missing".

Seren, who's currently being treated at Undata General Hospital in Palu, said he has stopped working and lives with the help of one of his friends.

"I totally leave my life to Almighty God and hope that someone out there would be willing to help finance the operational cost of my disease," he said.

The tumor, he said, was first thought to be just an itch in the genital area. When it grew bigger, Seren thought it was a giant ulcer and decided not to go to the hospital.

According to Dr. Nurdin Hutasoit of the hospital, he has no idea whether the disease was serious or not.

"We're still in the stage of diagnosing the disease," he said, adding that such a tumor was the first ever recorded by the hospital.

He said at least three specialists would take part in the operation later, Hutasoit said.
