Tsunami VCD sells well

BATAM, Riau Islands: Tragic scenes of the tsunami disaster
aired on television are now available on VCD and have became a
bestseller for traders in Batam.

Priced between Rp 10,000 (US$1.1) and Rp 20,000 each, traders
said on Friday that more and more people were looking for the
VCD.

A sidewalk trader in Tanjung Pantun market said the VCD had
hit the market on Jan. 15, and he had been supplied with 30
copies every three days. "Now only five copies remain," he said.

The VCD is titled Bencana Tsunami Aceh (Aceh's Tsunami
Disaster), though the name of its distributor is not known.

"I don't know whether the VCDs are pirated or not, I just get
them from other traders, and since they sell well, I continue to
stock them," Rahmat said. -- JP
