Tsunami in Asia
Most of us have been watching TV and reading the news on this natural disaster. We can expect the number of deaths to rise in the aftermath. Are we ready?
Many of those who were affected directly and survived have related their horrifying experiences on TV and in the press.
It is sad that I have not seen in the media anyone mentioning the Creator's hand in this fury of the waves; and none have mentioned going down on their knees individually, in a group or as a family to offer their prayers to the Creator -- to ask for forgiveness or for mercy, or to offer their gratitude.
It is understandable that when disaster strikes or when salvation is granted, God is often forgotten -- by those at the site of disaster and those in safe areas, far from the disaster zones.
Many leading figures in various fields worldwide, including the media, cannot mention the Creator openly or guide others to prayer; this is also understandable, as we are human.
I pray many will be guided to pray with compassion in this time of darkness, as many more will not see the first dawn of 2005.
