Trucks told to avoid toll roads

Truck drivers who normally use the city's toll roads will have
to be extra patient during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation
(APEC) conferences as the facility will be closed to them
virtually the whole day on Tuesday when APEC leaders head for
Bogor for their meeting.

An official of the ministry of transportation, who requested
anonymity, said the director general of land transportation will
soon issue a decree declaring the toll road between the Grogol
and Cawang as well as between Cawang and Bogor off-limits to
trucks, except for fuel trucks with permits.

The ruling will be effective from 2 a.m. to 8 p.m. Trucks will
be allowed on regular roads, and on other toll routes as long as
they exit before the restricted areas.

The toll roads will be closed to all other vehicles for an
hour when the APEC leaders head for Bogor in the morning and when
they return in the evening.(pwn)
