Trucks operation halted in Lampung

BANDARLAMPUNG, Lampung: Traders have stopped the operation of about 500 trucks due to a decrease in the volume of merchandise that needs transporting to and from Panjang Port, Antara said on Wednesday.

According to the head of the Organization of Land Transportation Owners, Zamzani, most of the trucks were off the road but the owners still had to pay their vehicular taxes.

He said more than 1,000 trucks, owned by both private companies and individuals, used to operate in the port. Only half of them are operating now.

The economic crisis has caused a decline in the flow of goods to and from the port. (01)
