Trucks impounded in North Jakarta

At least seven trucks have been impounded by the North Jakarta Traffic and Land Transportation Control Office after the vehicles were discovered carrying soil during daylight hours on certain roads.

Head of the office, Abubakar Ahmad, said here yesterday that the trucks were seized on Jl. Plumpang.

The vehicles were heading for Cilincing, Abubakar said, without mentioning the day when the raid was carried out.

Based on a local ruling, trucks loaded with soil are only allowed to pass through certain roads from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. after obtaining written permit from the North Jakarta mayor. (bsr)
