Truck slams into crowd

SUKOHARDJO, Central Java: Five people were killed and eight
others were seriously injured when a truck slammed into a crowd
of people who were enjoying a music performance on a main road in
Bentakan village on Wednesday.

The truck was on its way from Kebumen to Surakarta when it
crashed past the roadside markets and then into the throngs of
people who were dancing in the street.

The truck driver fled the scene, according to witnesses.
