Truck driver stabbed to death

BOGOR (JP): A pick-up truck driver was stabbed to death allegedly by an ojek (motorcycle taxi) driver at the victim's house in Cijeruk district, Bogor, Sunday evening.

Anita, the victim's wife, said yesterday that she and her husband, Heri Ansori, 25, were about to leave from their house when suddenly a man holding a dagger approached Heri.

"The man chased Heri and stabbed him around the head," she said.

The assailant was alleged to be a man named Bimo.

"My neighbors arrived at my house after hearing me scream, but the man had already run away," she said.

The severely injured Heri was immediately rushed to Sekar Wangi Hospital, but was turned away due to the limited availability of medical equipment there. He later died on the way to Bunut Hospital in Sukabumi, West Java.

The 27-year-old Bimo was found taking shelter at the Cijeruk police subprecinct to avoid an angry crowd. Both Heri and Bimo were reportedly involved in a heated argument sometime before the stabbing took place. (24/hhr)
