Tronoh to bid for RI power project

KUALA LUMPUR: Tronoh Mines Malaysia Bhd., a former tin miner has put in a bid to build part of a power generation plant in Indonesia, the Star said, citing unnamed sources.

Tronoh, controlled by Malaysia Mining Corp., plans to conduct civil works worth 200 million ringgit (US$53 million) for the power project located outside Jakarta, the newspaper reported.

The company may be involved in the Tanjung Priok power plant extension project in Jakarta Bay, on the northern coast of Java, the Star said.

Tronoh also plans to secure other civil construction jobs for at least five power plant development projects in Indonesia, the paper said. -- Bloomberg
