Travel bans on bankers

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi (JP): Attorney General A. Muhammad Ghalib vowed yesterday that he would soon issue travel bans on all bankers of troubled banks.

Ghalib also vowed to pursue the bankers through legal process to get back any state funds channeled to their banks.

"All state wealth must be returned as soon as possible. Therefore, I have asked that all presidents of problem banks be barred from traveling (abroad) and those who clearly breach regulations to be detained," he said at the South Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office.

He said his office would first seek legal recourse against such bankers through both civil and administrative courts. If this did not gain maximum results, he would pursue them through criminal court. (37)
