Transvestite killed by crowd

JAKARTA (JP): A man dressed as a woman was beaten to death on Sunday after trying to steal a motorbike taxi, known locally as ojek.

The incident happened at 11:30 p.m. on a football field in Joglo area, West Jakarta, when the man stopped the motorbike taxi driver, Sulaiman, 27, threatened him with a a knife and forced him to hand over his motorbike.

Sulaiman screamed for help and residents in the neighborhood reacted quickly.

They surrounded the culprit, punched him and hit him with a spade. The mob later burned his remains. The charred body was later taken to Cipto Mangunkusomo General Hospital's morgue. (06)
