'Trans TV' to air presidential dialog

SURABAYA: Television station Trans TV will air a program that
will allow presidential candidates to explain their platforms to
the public ahead of the July 5 and Sept. 20 presidential
election.

The program, titled Kupas Tuntas (Thorough Discussion) will
give viewers more information on the lives and political records
of the presidential candidates.

The weekly recorded program, which will air at 10:30 p.m.
beginning on April 5, will present one presidential candidate
each week.

"We have invited seven possible presidential candidates,
including President Megawati Soekarnoputri, and they said that
they would appear on the program," said producer Endah Saptorini.

Gen. (ret) Wiranto will be the first potential candidate to
appear on the program. His segment was taped during an appearance
he made on Saturday at Airlangga University in Surabaya and will
air on Monday. -- Antara
