Trans-Bakrie gets ISO

JAKARTA (JP): PT Trans-Bakrie, a part of the publicly listed
PT Bakrie & Brothers, has received ISO 9002 certification from
Bureau Veritas International (BVQI).

Trans-Bakrie said on Tuesday that the company, which is
involved in engineering activities, was the last unit of the
Bakrie group's infrastructure-related division, to receive an ISO
9002 certificate.

The company, a joint venture between Bakrie & Brothers and
Transfield Pty. Ltd of Australia, said the ISO certification
would enable it to expand its engineering services into more
developed markets.

The company recently won orders from Australian and American
companies to supply steel platforms of about 4,000 tons.

The company is also working on several steel fabrication and
construction projects with local oil and gas companies.(hen)
