Train's deplorable service

From Neraca

I am writing for the third time to complain about the poor service on the state-owned railway company (Perumka) because I have not yet received a reply from them. I hope this time, I will draw the company's attention to the problem and motivate Perumka to improve its service.

Like many other commuters, I use the train to go to work everyday. In fact, if more people used these commuter trains it would help reduce the number of private vehicles plying the streets causing traffic problems.

As far as the service is concerned, the company's officials and its train conductors rarely do anything to maintain order among the passengers. I rarely see the officers and conductors controlling the passengers aboard the trains. They simply leave it to the passengers themselves. We cannot expect Indonesians to be aware of the need for order by themselves. They have to be compelled to do so.

The passengers who stand close to the trains' doors, for example, are actually causing a problem for passengers who want to board the trains. They simply ignore the fact that their actions are causing an inconvenience to other passengers.

I also appeal to the management to bar fruit sellers from taking their huge baskets laden with fruit aboard the trains. Their baskets are occupying space which is needed for the crowded passengers to stand. Their fruit should be placed in special cargo cars.
