Training course on script writing

JAKARTA (JP): The French Embassy has organized a training course on script writing for teachers and fourth-year students of the Jakarta Arts Institute (IKJ).

The four-day training course, which will begin this Monday at IKJ in Central Jakarta, is part of an agreement between IKJ's School of Cinema and Television and the French Cinema School (Femis), the embassy announced on Friday.

The training session will be conducted by Sverine Vermeesch, scriptwriter and director, who is in charge of education at Femis school, the embassy said.

The event is part of a follow-up of several cooperation activities between the two schools. For the last two years an Indonesian student has been selected annually to participate in a course at the Femis school summer university.

In June and July this year, Faozal Rizai took this high level course and soon will be sitting for the entrance test for foreign students for a three-year course in Femis.

The opening of the training course will be conducted by Hartanto of IKJ, Thierry Dumanoir, the embassy's cultural attache, and Michel Houdayer, the embassy's audiovisual attache. (ivy)
