Training course for museum guides

The Museum and Historical Affairs Office is holding a training
course for guides, operators and staff members of the city's
museums.

The two-week course, opened by office head Dirman Surachmat at
the Jakarta Historic Museum in West Jakarta yesterday, is aimed
at improving guides' knowledge and professionalism.

Nurhadi S., head of the program development section, said that
through the course guides will learn to give comprehensive
information on Indonesian arts and cultures.

Professionalism is vital for the success of the city's target
to attract two million tourists annually, he said. (hhr)
