Train derails in Senen

JAKARTA: The Progo train, plying the route between Yogyakarta and Jakarta, derailed on Wednesday just 300 meters away from Senen station in Senen, Central Jakarta.

No fatalities nor injuries were reported in the incident which took place at 6:24 a.m.

Passengers on the economy-class train had got out of the train at Senen station 20 minutes earlier.

State railway operator PT KAI rerouted trains, including those traveling between Senen station and Kota station, West Jakarta due to the incident.

However, a spokesperson from PT KAI said the incident had not caused the delay of trains arriving at Senen station.

Technicians repaired the damage within four hours. --JP.
