Traffic change in Menteng

JAKARTA (JP): The city will turn JL. H. Agus Salim and Jl. Gereja Theresia in Menteng into one-way streets as of Friday to improve traffic flow in the area, City Hall Spokesman Soesila Darmoadji said here yesterday.

Jl. H. Agus Salim in Menteng, Central Jakarta, will be one way from Jl. Yusuf Adiwinata to Jl. Sunda, while Jl. Gereja Theresia will be one way from Jl. H. Agus Salim - Jl. Sunda until the Jl. Cokroaminoto - Jl. Gereja Theresia junction, he said.

Part of Jl. Yusuf Adiwinata, beginning at the intersection of Jl. Cokroaminoto and Jl. Gereja Theresia until the Jl. Agus Salim and Jl. Yusuf Adiwinata intersection will be one way.

To support the new regulation, the other roads in the area, including Jl. Lombok, Jl. Maluku and Jl. Irian will also be for one-way traffic, and drivers are still prohibited from parking their cars along Jl. H. Agus Salim, Soesilo said. (sur)
