Trader dies from shock after market fire

PAREPARE, South Sulawesi: One trader died from shock after discovering his stall had been destroyed in a fire that swept through 60 garment stalls at Lakessi market in Parepare regency, South Sulawesi, on Thursday night.

"It might have been a heart attack, because he died soon after the fire spread to his stall," a fellow trader said.

The blaze started at 10 p.m. and was extinguished by local fire-fighters after an hour.

It was not clear what caused the fire or the extent of material loss. Local police were investigating the source of the blaze. --Antara
