Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu led Wednesday a trade and business delegation to New Delhi as Indonesia and India are seeking to take their trade partnership to a new level.

"The goals of the mission are to follow up on a number of bilateral issues as part of efforts to improve trade between the two countries and to prepare for the visit of the Indonesian President to India in early 2011," a press statement from the ministry said.

It said Yudhoyono would be in India to enhance the two countries' economic partnership.

The Indonesian delegation in New Delhi includes officials from the Foreign Ministry and the Industry Ministry, members of the joint study group on Indonesia-India Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement and business representatives.

The business figures represent, among others, those from food processing, pulp and paper, cosmetics and pharmaceutical, and automotive industries.

The Indonesian trade minister held a meeting with Indian Trade and Industry Minister Shri Anand, during which they agreed to expand their trade, economic and investment cooperation.
