TPJ announces water disruption

JAKARTA(JP): A city tap water company, PT Thames Pam Jaya (TPJ), announced on Monday that customers in a number of areas in East and North Jakarta would experience water supply disruptions from Tuesday through Friday due to routine maintenance work.

To anticipate the disruption of water supplies, the company suggested that consumers fully fill up their water tanks.

Areas likely to be affected include Pegangsaan Dua subdistrict, Central Jakarta, and Kelapa Gading Barat, North Jakarta. Supplies to these areas will be disrupted from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.

The water supply disruption would likely also affect East Jakarta subdistricts such as Cawang, Cililitan, Kebon Pala, Halim Perdana Kusuma, Bidara Cina, Cipinang Cempedak, Kampung Melayu, Kramat Jati, Kampung Makassar and Batu Ampar. Disruption of water supplies to these areas would last from Tuesday evening through Thursday morning.

Supplies would also affect in East Pademangan, West Pademangan, Sunter Agung and Ancol in North Jakarta from Friday evening through Saturday morning. (emf)
