Toyota safety car

TOKYO: Toyota has developed an experimental safety vehicle. The Advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV) incorporates everything from a hood-mounted pedestrian-protection air bag to a vibrating seat to wake drowsy drivers.

The ASV has four on-board video camera's to eliminate drivers' blind spots. Two cameras are mounted on the front corners to look around blind intersections, another is supplemented with a wave millimeter radar which monitors road conditions and warns the driver to take evasive action.

The vehicle tracks driver alertness by measuring the drivers pulse rate which is linked to a computer. The driver is warned by the on-board dash monitor at first then by the seat vibrator.
