Toyota increases steel suppliers

TOKYO: Toyota will broaden its supply sources for steel in Indonesia and Thailand in an effort to keep down procurement costs.

Until now NKK and Nippon Steel have supplied Toyota in Thailand while Nippon Steel had a monopoly in Indonesia.

But with the steel companies talking about raising their prices, Toyota has broadened its base to keep the suppliers competitive.
