Town of flowers

In many stories and articles Bandung has always been referred
to as the Town of Flowers. Also Bandung is proudly called "the
Paris of Java" and many other glamorous names. Very recently I
visited Bandung but I did not see any flowers around. I've often
been told that Bandung is cool and fresh. I was sweating
profusely. The buildings are very close to each other and traffic
on public roads is mostly one way.

I spent a few moments at the town public square wondering
about its past. It seems to me that Bandung is over crowded just
like other cities. Crowds of people move about seemingly
aimlessly, which only gives the impression that everything is in
disorder. The present Bandung is completely different from the
Bandung of the past. I wish I could see Bandung as it was.
