Tourists' remains sent home

DENPASAR, Bali: The body of a Dutch tourist who drowned Sunday at Kuta Beach was flown home on Monday, Antara reported yesterday.

The agency quoted a spokesman of the local administration, Gus Susmatra, as saying that 43-year-old V.I. Jagbandham was sent in a Singapore Airlines' plane to Amsterdam.

Meanwhile, the body of a 54-year-old German tourist identified as Balzer, who also drowned at the same beach on Saturday, will be flown home today.

Gus said Denpasar Public Hospital still had the body of a person identified as Ludmila Alexander Boreisha, an American, awaiting further instructions from relatives. The U.S. consulate here had been seeking information about the family of the deceased.

Boreisha died on Sept. 14 in the Bali Strait after she reportedly jumped into the sea from her boat, Antara said. (swe)
