Tourist has all his belongings taken

JAKARTA (JP): A Danish tourist lost all his belongings only a few hours after he stepped into the country for the first time.

His taxi driver is the suspect.

"Luckily I still have my passport and cash but I lost all my clothes and stuff, including a cheap camera and map," Dan Lund, 23, told The Jakarta Post after reporting the case at the City Police headquarters yesterday.

Lund said he took a blue-colored taxi from the airport to a hostel on Jl. Jaksa in Central Jakarta just after he arrived at Soekarno-Hatta airport from Singapore on Tuesday.

"After we arrived on Jl. Jaksa at around 6:30 p.m. I got out and paid Rp 30,000 to the driver," Lund said.

"But he suddenly left me with my stuff still in the car's trunk," said Lund.

The tourist hopes he can regain his belongings quickly. (bsr)
