Top players join Silatama series

SEMARANG: The country's elite table tennis players will don their respective club colors when they face each other at the third and final round of the Premier Table Tennis League (Silatama) to be held at Yadora Sports Hall here from Thursday until Sunday.

Chairman of the event's organizing committee Ananda Isman said there would be 13 clubs, mostly from Java, contesting the league, which offers Rp 48 million (US$4,700) in cash prizes.

Ananda said the Central Java capital had been named as host of the league after the first and second legs in Jakarta and Surabaya respectively because of its status as one of the country's prominent stables of top national players. --JP
