Top players cruise in Niaga Cigna Open

JAKARTA (JP): Top players cruised into the second round of the
Rp 35 million (US$4,600) Niaga Cigna Open 2000 at Senayan tennis
stadium here on Wednesday.

In the men's singles competition, only fifth seeded Sulistyo
Wibowo had to exit early after he bowed out to Tjahjono 1-6, 2-6.

First seed, Dede Suhendar Dinata beat Prihatin 6-2, 6-1. He
will next challenge his junior, Irwan Radjab, who upset wild card
entree and official of the Indonesian Tennis Association (Pelti),
Sudjiono Timan, 6-2, 6-3.

The following seeds, Edy Kusdaryanto, Sebastian DaCosta,
Andrian Raturandang, Surya Wijaya, Yusmawan Fahmi and Bonit
Wiryawan will meet Eko Kurniawan, Nesa Artha, Naharuddin,
Samsuddin Pare, Stanley Sanger and Cuk Prihatmanto respectively.

In the women's singles competition, first seed, Irawati
Moerid, accompanied seeds, Liza Andriani, Wukirasih Sawondari,
Frederika Girsang, Dea Sumantri, Angelique Wijaya into the second
round.

Seventh seeded Eny Sulistyowati lost to her junior, Suci
Bungaran, 3-6, 1-6 while eighth seeded Diana Julianto was
eliminated by Lianasari Batubara 1-6, 6-7.(ivy)
