Tonasa operates new plant

JAKARTA (JP): PT Semen Tonasa, the South Sulawesi-based cement factory, will soon operate a cement bagging plant with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year in Palaran, East Kalimantan.

"We started constructing the plant early last year and we'll start commercial operation later this month," the company's director for research and development, Agus Mochtar Sagir, told Antara in Samarinda yesterday.

He said that the plant would cost about Rp 20 billion (US$8.51 million). (bnt)
