TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:National tire businessmen have not had problems in exporting heir products to Brazil. Tjutju Darmawan, the Indonesian Tire Companies Association secretary-general, said he has not received any report from his members concerning the Brazilian government’s import regulations which tend to impede tire exports from Indonesia. He also claimed he has not encountered any barriers on imports.
Last week, Sahat Sitorus, the Trade Ministry’s Brazilian Trade Attaché stated that tire exports from Indonesia to Brazil were impeded due to complicated regulations. Brazil required importers from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand to attach a letter stating the origin of the product.
