Tigers on the brink of extinction: WWF

PEKANBARU, Riau: Poaching, illegal logging and land clearing in Riau forests meant there would soon be no more Sumatran tigers in the area, a World Wildlife Fund worker says.

Nur Anam, the WWF's campaign officer, said about 15 tigers died each year in the forest and only about 100 were estimated to be left. -- JP
