Tiara Bangsa school opens house

JAKARTA (JP): The exclusive Tiara Bangsa elementary school which applies both a national and international curriculum, held a one-day introductory open house at its school in Cibubur, East Jakarta on Saturday.

Dozens of parents flocked to the open house, undeterred by the high fees charged by the school.

Antara reported that for kindergarten pupils there was a US$1,000 entrance fee and annual tuition fees of about US$2,750, while for the elementary school the entrance fee was about US$2,000 with annual tuition fees of US$5,500.

"Given these fees, the students receive an education equal to what they would receive in England, Australia or Singapore," the school's consultant Barbara Nicholas said. (jun)
