Three people burned in fire

BEKASI: A welding shop in Jaka Setia subdistrict, Bekasi Selatan caught on fire on Monday, injuring three workers and destroying two cars.

The fire began at about 9:20 a.m., probably from a welding spark, police said.

Two of the shop's workers, Gepeng and Sutar, and the shopowner's son, Wagino, were injured in the blaze. Details of their conditions were not available.

A gas tube used for welding exploded in fire, which firefighters took two hours to control, Detikcom reported.

Police said the blaze caused about Rp 200 million (US$22,471) in damage. -- JP
