Three parties lead Palu campaigning
PALU, Central Sulawesi: Three major parties -- Golkar, PDI Perjuangan and the United Development Party (PPP) -- dominated campaign rallies in Buol Tolitoli regency here, mobilizing many more supporters than other parties.
Police chief Lt. Col. Wancik Wahab said in the clove-producing regency on Monday that only those three parties have, up to the sixth day of campaigning, been able to mobilize large numbers of supporters.
The National Mandate Party (PAN), National Awakening Party (PKB), Crescent Star Party (PBB) and Justice and Unity Party (PKP) have yet to make their presence felt.
Golkar won 97 percent of the votes in the regency in the 1997 elections. (swe)
