Three killed in shop fire

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Three people were burned to death when fire razed a building material shop on Wednesday.

The police identified the victims as Hasan, 20, Makmur, 17, both sons of the shop owners. The third victim was the house maid who's name is not yet available.

The shop owner, Ahui, and an attendant escaped the inferno unhurt but were badly shocked, Antara reported.

Also on Wednesday, fire destroyed seven shops in Kabanjahe in the Tanah Karo regency, in which five shops had to be torn down to contain the fire. There was no word on casualties.(pan)
