Three injured in Trisakti brawl

JAKARTA: Three students were injured and six cars were damaged following a three-hour student brawl at Trisakti University in West Jakarta on Wednesday.

"Revenge is the reason most likely behind the incident," Hasiyani, the university spokeswoman, said, adding that last Friday, other students were also involved in fighting.

Wednesday's brawl between students from the School of Engineering and the School of Mineral Technology, started at 11 a.m. and went until 2 p.m..

Hasiyani said the rector decided to stop all campus activities this week.

"We will resume normal activities on Monday," she said.

The disciplinary commission, she said, would interrogate the students involved in the brawl.

"They (the students) will likely be suspended," she said.--JP
