Three die in swollen river

BANJARNEGARA, Central Java (JP): Three people died on Sunday when they were swept away by strong river currents following a day of torrential rain in Susukan district.

The three victims, who lived in a village near Gumelem River, were identified as 16-year-old Buhron, 33-year-old Warsinem and her 3-year-old son Musola.

Buhron was washed away as he attempted to cross the river, while Warsinem and her son were swept as they bathed on the bank of the river.

The bodies of Wasinem and Buhron were recovered about one kilometer downstream, while Musola's body has yet to be found.(45/lup)
