Three cars on offer for holes-in-one

JAKARTA (JP): Three brand new cars worth a total Rp 405 million (US$202,000) are being made available for golfers who manage to score holes-in-one at the Bisnis Indonesia Top Executive Golf Tournament here.

Yohannes A. Sunyoto, the organizing committee's chairman, said yesterday that the tournament will be held at the Serpong Damai golf course in Tangerang on Dec. 8.

The prize cars are a Volvo 960 Royal, a BMW 323i and a Honda Ferio.

"The tournament is held to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the daily Bisnis Indonesia which falls on Dec.14. Executives from private firms and government dignitaries will take part in the one-day event," Sunyoto said.

The golfers will also compete for the Challenge Cup.

Some 170 men and women have registered their names for the tournament. "The tournament is also an arena for meetings between the publishers, readers and those involved with the daily," said Sunyoto.

This is the eighth year the daily has sponsored the golf tournament, held since 1989. Dalimend won the first tournament in 1989, followed by Ananta Kurnia (1990), Andi Amin (1991), Johny Chandra (1992), Gojali S (1993), Bambang S (1994) and Wim Alfatih (1995).

Minister of Transmigration Siswono Yudohusodo is expected to open the tournament. Sukamdani S. Gitosardjono, the publisher of Bisnis Indonesia, is also scheduled to attend the opening ceremony. (lnt)
