Three arrested over drugs
JAKARTA (JP): Sunda Kelapa Police detectives arrested three people for possession of three kilograms of marijuana early on Tuesday morning.
Police suspect they intended to sell the drug to fishermen in the Tanjung Priok area.
Tanjung Priok Seaport (KP3) Police chief Lt. Col. Edward Aritonang identified the three as Dayat, 22, Ishak, 22, and Dasma, 28.
"The suspects were arrested in their hideout in the Sunda Kelapa area, with three kilograms of marijuana in 280 small plastic packets," Aritonang told reporters.
"They sell each packet for Rp 10,000 (US$1.30), which is nearly a whole day's wage for a fisherman. We have been receiving too many reports from Tanjung Priok fishermen residents about these drug deals."
"I ordered Sunda Kelapa Police chief Maj. Daryono to investigate, and he got hold of these three men. So far, they say they get their drugs from a single man, whom we are now after." (ylt)
